IKV Chairman Ömer Cihad Vardan, chaired the meeting organized by Ministry for EU Affairs with the representatives of the civil society at the occasion of the visit made by Commissioner responsible for enlargement and European neighbourhood policy Stefan Füle to Turkey. Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also joined the meeting.

After Minister Çavuşoğlu’s opening speech of, IKV Chairman Vardan briefly shared some of his key observations and presented some recommendations regarding Turkey’s EU negotiation process. Following his remarks, the representatives of the civil society presented also their points of view and questions. The meeting which gathered representatives of nearly 50 different non-governmental organizations was closed to the press.

During the meeting, the Commissioner Füle and Minister of EU Affairs Çavuşoğlu listened to the comments and answers the questions of the representatives of these non-governmental organizations regarding Turkey-EU relations, especially Turkey’s EU negotiation process.
