IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas gave a lecture titled “European Union, General Structure and Development” within the scope of the SDG5 Network Critical Security, Foreign Policy, and Economy Training Programme on 11 May 2024, in webinar format. The presentation, which included important topics such as the European integration process that started with the Schuman Declaration, the establishment of the three precursor communities of the EU, the development of the Communities, the formation of the EU, structural elements, the new functionalist approach, institutional structure, and supranational characteristics, was concluded with a question-and-answer session.

The SDG5 Network, an acronym for “Security, Development, Disaster, Gender Network” is a research network formed by academics aiming to create networks at international and national levels, ensure gender equality in academia, prevent discrimination, and strengthen youth participation and solidarity.
