IKV Chairperson Ayhan Zeytinoğlu gave a speech at the conference entitled "EU Enlargement: A Business Perspective" organized by EUROCHAMBRES in Brussels on 20 March 2024. In his speech, Chairperson Zeytinoğlu said that Türkiye is the oldest candidate among the current candidate countries and as a customs union partner, it has largely harmonized with the EU acquis.

Chairperson Zeytinoğlu suggested that the modernising of the customs union, green and digital harmonization topics should be implemented as new areas of cooperation without wasting time and pointed out that the process should be revitalized to reach the membership target.

Rifat Hısarcıklıoğlu, Former European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Stefan Füle, EUROCHAMBRES President Vladimir Dlouhy, Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Gennadiy Chyzhykov and many European business world representatives attended the meeting.
