IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas gave a webinar on Türkiye-EU relations, within the scope of the training program called "Diplomat School" organized by the Foreign Policy Institute on 9 September 2023. Touching on the problems that Türkiye-EU relations have encountered recently, Assoc. Prof. Nas stated that the accession process is practically suspended. Assoc. Prof. Nas emphasized that countries such as Ukraine and Moldova, which were given candidate status within the scope of the expansion strategy, are among the priorities of the EU and that the approach towards Türkiye has developed in the direction of partnership rather than membership. Discussing the steps to be taken to revitalize Türkiye’s EU membership process, Assoc. Prof. Nas emphasized the importance of reforms in the field of democracy, human rights and law. The presentation made by Assoc. Prof. Nas continued with the question and answer section.
