On 8 September 2020, IKV organised a webinar on the modernisation of the Customs Union within the scope of the "Hear the CSOs" project carried out in cooperation with the European Union Global Research Association (ABKAD).

At the webinar moderated by ABKAD Deputy Chair Can Baydarol, Agricultural Engineer Halil Agah and Senior Project Consultant and Economist Acar Şensoy talked about expanding the Customs Union’s scope to the agriculture sector. IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas, Prof.  Sanem Baykal from TOBB University of Economics and G20 Studies Center Director at the Turkish Economic Policy Research Institute (TEPAV) Sait Akman discussed the effects of expanding the Customs Union’s scope to include the services sector. Assoc. Prof Nas and Prof. Baykal also gave information on the decision-making, consultation and dispute-settlement mechanisms in Turkey-EU relations.
