The meeting entitled “Opportunities and challenges of the Turkey-EU Customs Union” organised by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambers) was held on 26 June 2019.

The opening speech of the meeting, which was hosted by Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), was delivered by BCCI Chairman Tsvetan Simeonov. First Secretary Esin Topçu from the Turkish Embassy in Sofia and Natalia Dimitrova from the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy spoke about the economic and trade relations between Turkey and Bulgaria while Eurochambres Director Dirk Vantyghem introduced the Turkey–EU Business Dialogue Project. IKV Research Director Çisel İleri gave a presentation on the modernization of the Customs Union and its potential implications for the business community. In the last part of the meeting, participants discussed the problems their companies and businesses face.
