The IKV Istanbul EU Information Center organised a panel entitled “Turkey-EU Relations: Customs Union and Financial Cooperation” on 20 March 2019. The opening speeches of the panel, which was hosted by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC), were delivered by Head of the EU Delegation to Turkey Ambassador Christian Berger and ICOC President Şekip Avdagiç.

During the panel, which was moderated by IKV Vice-Chairman Prof. Halûk Kabaalioğlu, IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas informed the participants about the state of play in Turkey-EU relations in light of global developments. IKV Strategy and Business Development Director M. Gökhan Kilit made a presentation on the modernisation of the Customs Union and possible implications for the Turkish business community while IKV Research Director Çisel İleri talked about EU funding opportunities available to the business community.
