IKV Chairman Ayhan Zeytinoğlu and the accompanying committee came together with EP Turkey rapporteur Kati Piri on 23 May 2018 in Brussels. During the meeting in which key issues such as the snap election, economic relations and investments between the EU and Turkey, the Customs Union, visa liberalisation and membership process were discussed, importance of the elections  with regards to the Turkey-EU relations was emphasised.

IKV Chairman Zeytinoğlu underlined that foreign direct investments are critical for Turkey’s development and the future of relationships with the EU. While reminding that the Turkish economy and institutions are strong, Zeytinoğlu stressed that there should not be any question marks in terms of election security.
