IKV Delegation led by Chairman Ömer Cihad Vardan and accompanied by Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. Halûk Kabaalioğlu, Secretary General Assoc. Prof Çiğdem Nas and Deputy Secretary General and Research Director Melih Özsöz, visited the Governor of Istanbul Avni Mutlu in his office on the 16^th September 2014. In the meeting which was held on the last working day of Governor Mutlu, Chairman Vardan thanked for his contribution to Istanbul and congratulated his for his new assignment.

During the meeting, IKV Chairman Vardan gave detailed information to the Governor about the Foundation and the various activities carried out by IKV. He also expressed his wish to further enhance future cooperation between the Governorship of Istanbul and IKV.  Briefing about the various activities carried out by IKV since 1965 both in Turkey and in Europe, Chairman Vardan stressed the importance of Istanbul especially with its title of the “European Capital of Culture 2010”.

At the end of the meeting, Governor of Istanbul Hüseyin Avni Mutlu, gave tdetailed information about the EU Unit and its activities within the Governorship. He also expressed his wish to further cooperation between IKV and Governorship of Istanbul.
