IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas participated as a speaker in the webinar titled "European Union – India Free Trade Agreement and Its Effects on Türkiye" organised by the Asian Pacific Research and Application Centre and the English Foreign Trade Department of Istanbul Gedik University on 19 February 2026.

During the webinar, Associate Professor Nas assessed the current status of the EU-India Free Trade Agreement negotiations and the potential implications of the agreement for Türkiye.

Assoc. Prof. Nas stated that the EU-India STA presents both risks and opportunities for Türkiye, drawing particular attention to the possibility of unfair competition and market loss for Turkish industrialists. Assoc. Prof. Nas also emphasised the importance of updating the Türkiye-EU Customs Union and stated that Türkiye needs to be more effectively involved in decision-making mechanisms.
