IKV İSTANBUL EUIC EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK EVENTS BEGAN
IKV İstanbul EU Information Centre, in cooperation with Ataşehir Municipality, Bakırköy Municipality, the Cyclists Association and the EU Delegation to Türkiye, is organising various events in İstanbul between 16 and 22 September 2026 as part of European Mobility Week.
The first programme of the week began with morning sports activities in the parks located in Ataşehir Atatürk Neighbourhood under the theme “Movement Day in Parks”. Many sports enthusiasts participated in the “Morning Exercise in Neighbourhood Parks” event held on 19 September 2026 and took part in aerobic sessions accompanied by instructors.
The theme of the campaign, organised by the EU every year between 16 and 22 September in Member States and candidate countries, was designated as “Mobility for Everyone”. In 2025, more than 2,700 cities and towns from 46 countries, along with more than 900 businesses, educational institutions, civil society organisations and citizen initiatives, participated in European Mobility Week.
