IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas attended a meeting organised by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the European Commission to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the enlargement process and to assess the Enlargement Candidate Members (ECM) initiative. Participants examined how enlargement could strengthen Europe’s security, resilience, and competitiveness.

In her remarks, Assoc. Prof. Nas underlined the importance of civil society solidarity for democracy and resilience in Europe. She stated that enlargement is back on the European agenda and emphasised that all candidate countries are in the same boat.
