IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas gave a seminar on 16 December 2025 within the scope of the Jean Monnet Module titled ENGAGE–Sustainable Development Goals, coordinated by Marmara University faculty member Prof. Gonca Oğuz Gök.
In the webinar titled “Climate Action and Sustainability in EU External Governance,” Assoc. Touching upon the environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainability, Nas assessed the impact of the debates held within the framework of the European Green Deal. Assoc. Prof. Nas noted that the green transition also shapes the EU’s relations with its partners and stressed that Türkiye–EU relations are also affected by this process.
The Jean Monnet Module titled “European Union and Norms in Global Governance: Advancing Gender Equality and Sustainable Development Goals” (ENGAGE-SDG-101239971) is an innovative academic initiative that examines how the EU promotes gender equality and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in global governance. This Module, which will be implemented at Marmara University between 2025 and 2028, will assess the EU’s gender equality and SDG policies through the lenses of normative coherence, epistemic justice, and feminist international relations, will analyse from a critical perspective how the EU builds its normative power identity and how it operates globally, and will open up for discussion the perspectives of different geographies on the diffusion of norms in global governance.
