IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas participated in the Green Diplomacy Forum held at İstanbul Beykoz University on 2 December 2025. Assoc. Prof. Nas was a speaker at the third panel of the forum, organised by İstanbul Beykoz University in collaboration with FICAC (Fédération Internationale des Corps et Associations Consulaires) and TİDER (Basic Needs Association). The panel, titled “The EU Green Deal and Türkiye’s Compliance Strategy”, was moderated by Prof. Aylin Ünver Noi. In her speech, Assoc. Prof. Nas summarised the main objectives and current status of the European Green Deal. Stating that the European Green Deal is a green growth strategy that brings important adaptation efforts for Türkiye to the agenda, Nas highlighted Türkiye’s update of its national contribution statement, its announcement of 2053 as its carbon neutrality target date, and the adoption of the Climate Law as important developments in this process. Stating that combating the climate crisis, transitioning to a circular economy, and sustainable development are among Türkiye’s most urgent priorities, the IKV Secretary General Nas concluded her speech by describing the work carried out by the IKV in this regard.
