IKV HOSTED AN INFORMATION MEETING ON THE JEAN MONNET SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME
IKV hosted the “Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme İstanbul Information” meeting, organised by the EU Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye in cooperation with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Central Finance and Procurement Unit (MFIB) and the EU Delegation to Türkiye on 30 September 2025. The meeting, which attracted the interest of scholarship candidates, provided information on applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. Scholarship candidates learned about the criteria of the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme and found answers to their questions during the question-and-answer session.
The Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme aims to contribute to the creation of the administrative capacity needed in this field by increasing the number of people specialising in areas related to the EU acquis, within the framework of Türkiye's goal of full EU membership.
Under the programme, selected scholarship holders are granted the right to conduct research or pursue postgraduate education at a university or equivalent institution in an EU member state for a period of at least 3 and up to 12 months. The scholarships are allocated to studies on topics related to the EU acquis within the scope of our country's EU harmonisation process.
These scholarships strengthen Türkiye's human resources with expertise in EU acquis, thereby contributing to the development of the administrative capacity necessary for the effective implementation of the acquis. The scholarship holders' competence in their field of study increases and their perspectives on the functioning of the EU broaden. The Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme also supports the development of civil society dialogue between Türkiye and the EU, fosters international academic relations, and builds bridges between Turkish and European colleagues.
