IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas participated in a roundtable discussion on “Türkiye-EU Relations” held on 2 July 2025 as part of the EU Values Conference. In her speech, Assoc. Prof. Nas drew attention to the stagnation and deterioration in Türkiye-EU relations over the past decade. Noting that current security concerns have prompted the EU to develop its defence sector, Assoc. Prof. Nas emphasised that the need to develop economic and trade relations alongside security and defence creates common goals and opportunities for Türkiye and the EU.

The roundtable discussion was organised by Sabancı University and the İstanbul Policy Centre as part of a Jean Monnet network project. Moderated by Prof. Meltem Müftüler Baç, the other speakers at the roundtable discussion were Prof. Senem Aydın Düzgit and Prof. Münevver Cebeci.
