IKV DISCUSSED TÜRKİYE-EU RELATIONS IN WARSAW

IKV, in cooperation with the Polish Institute of International Relations (PISM) and the Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW), organised a meeting titled “EU and Geopolitical Challenges: The Role of Türkiye-EU Interaction” with the participation of academics and experts on 6 May 2025.

The opening speeches of the meeting, which took place within the scope of the “EU Presidencies and Türkiye’s EU Accession Process Project” organised in the capital of each EU Member State taking over the EU Presidency, were delivered by IKV Chairperson Ayhan Zeytinoğlu and OSW Acting Director Justyna Gotkowska.

IKV aims to contribute to the Türkiye-EU accession negotiations process with the “EU Presidencies and Türkiye's EU Accession Process Project”, which is organised in the capital of each EU member state taking over the EU Presidency.

IKV, which has repeatedly emphasised the importance of communication strategy in Türkiye's EU accession process, continues its efforts for a better understanding of Türkiye's accession negotiations process and raising awareness among EU citizens on this issue by expanding its Brussels-based activities and organising meetings in other EU countries. In this framework, with the EU Presidencies project launched in 2010, meetings are organised in the EU country assuming the presidency.

During his visit to Poland, Chairperson Zeytinoğlu and his delegation also met with Bahadır İleri, Undersecretary of the Embassy of Türkiye in Poland, and Irena Kolakowska-Falkowska, Head of the Department of Strategic Cooperation with Regional Partners at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and her team.
