IKV Chairperson Ayhan Zeytinoğlu and his accompanying delegation came together with the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar, at the TOBB-IKV Brussels Office as part of the Turkish business community meeting in Belgium on 21 November 2024.

President Tatar stated that the TRNC is an attractive centre with many advantages, such as its climate and climate related properties such as its weather conditions, greenery, blue seas, and geographical location. He said, "Today, the TRNC, an independent Turkic state in the Eastern Mediterranean, is the gateway to the Mediterranean for the entire Turkic world, with its ports, airspace effectiveness, the value of the Blue Homeland, and its capacity to become a logistics hub."

Stating that the TRNC has its own unique political issues, Tatar said, "Since the world has not fully recognized us and we still face embargoes, there are some difficulties. However, despite this, there has been continuous economic growth and development since 1974." President Tatar emphasized the importance of international investments for economic development, stating, "If the isolation and embargoes are lifted, the TRNC will grow and develop even more."

IKV Chairperson Zeytinoğlu provided information to President Tatar about the activities carried out by IKV. TRNC President Tatar mentioned that he has been following IKV’s work for a long time. At the end of the meeting, Chairperson Zeytinoğlu presented TNRC President Tatar with a plaque and a set of IKV publications on the Cyprus issue.
