IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas participated in the "Development of Multi-Actor Operational Cooperation in Migration Management: Networking Among Migration Management Authorities (MAGNET) Regional Conference" held in İstanbul on 30 May 2024, organised in cooperation with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) Türkiye Office and the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Interior Presidency of Migration Management (GIB). The outputs of the MAGNET project carried out by the two institutions were discussed at the conference. The event aimed to bring together and network different actors involved in migration management, including relevant bureaucrats, experts, academics, civil society representatives, and business representatives.

Assoc. Prof. Nas spoke at the panel on the role of the private sector in migration management. In her speech on the role of the private sector in migration, Assoc. Prof. Nas drew attention to the critical impact of the business world as the main employment provider in terms of the relationship between migration and development and emphasised the decisive role of the private sector in matching the skills required by the business world with employment opportunities.
