The IKV brief entitled “The Current State of EU Enlargement Discussions and Prospects for Türkiye” authored by IKV Junior Researcher Tunç İbrahim Ceylan was published as part of IKV Brief series. The brief note focuses on long stalemate for EU enlargement witnessed throughout 2010s. Then, the conditions in which new enlargement agenda rises are evaluated. After the 2023 EU Enlargement Strategy document is examined, the “Franco-German Report” noting the necessary reforms in the EU institutions before the new enlargement is analyzed in detail. Finally, Türkiye’s possible position in this enlargement agenda is discussed.
