IKV organized a meeting titled "Türkiye-EU Relations, Green Deal and the Future of Europe" in cooperation with FNF and hosted by Çukurova University on 18 October 2023. The opening speech of the meeting was delivered by Prof. Serkan Yılmaz Kandır, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Çukurova University. Prof. Kandır mentioned that there is a significant lack of information on the European Green Deal in Türkiye and emphasized the importance of this meeting's content and timing. Following the opening speech, Prof. Harun Arıkan from Çukurova University, Department of Political Science and International Relations moderated the panel discussion and thanked IKV and FNF for organizing this meeting and introduced the panelists briefly.

The first speaker of the meeting, Prof. Sanem Baykal from TOBB University of Economics and Technology, discussed the history of Türkiye-EU relations and how the EU enlargement process is affected by the current developments. Following Prof. Baykal, IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas evaluated the Green Deal and Türkiye-EU relations. In her presentation, Nas explained the historical development of the climate crisis, the scope of the Green Deal put forward by the EU as a new growth model and how it has brought a significant transformation process. The last speaker of the meeting, IKV Deputy Secretary General M. Gökhan Kilit, evaluated the process of updating the Türkiye-EU Customs Union, how the services and agriculture sectors will be affected in this context and the effects of the European Green Deal on the customs union updating process. The meeting ended with the questions from the participants.
