Today we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ankara Agreement, which created a partnership between Türkiye and the EEC. The Ankara Agreement maintains its importance as a legal text that forms the basis of relations between Türkiye and the EU. The possibility of membership, which was foreseen in the Treaty, became concrete with Türkiyes candidacy. However, the freeze in accession negotiations is preventing the process from moving forward. As IKV, we are determinedly continuing our work with the contributions of our trustees and supporters to move the process forward. Our main priority is to achieve all the goals envisaged by the partnership relationship and to complete the accession process with full membership.
