IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas attended the panel titled "How Prepared is the Industry for Natural Disasters and Industrial Accidents? What Should Be Done to Manage Risks?" as a speaker on the second day of the 4^th Process Safety Symposium and Exhibition organized by Kocaeli Chamber of Industry between 12-13 September 2023. Speaking about the implementation of the EUs directive on the prevention of major industrial accidents and the developments regarding the relevant legislation in Türkiye, Assoc. Prof. Nas discussed the measures and implementation examples regarding the prevention of major industrial accidents in the EU. Analysing the process in Türkiye, Assoc. Prof. Nas stated that one of the most important problems is the lack of publicly available data on accidents. The panel attended by Assoc. Prof. Nas was moderated by Kocaeli Chamber of Industry Council President Hasan Tahsin Tuğrul, while the other speakers of the panel were KİPLAS Chairman of the Board Levent Kocagül, İKV Board Member Ersin Kayalar, Turkish Chemical Industrialists Association Chairman of the Board Haluk Erceber, Assoc. Prof. Serkan Girgin and AKUT Foundation President Nasuh Mahruki.
