On 27 January 2023, IKV Chairman Ayhan Zeytinoğlu participated in the EU Information Centres Network Kick-Off Meeting held in Izmir. IKV is part of the network through managing the work of the IKV Istanbul EU Information Centre. 

The opening speeches of the meeting were made by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Head of the EU Delegation to Türkiye Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the EU Information Centres project has been carried out since 1996, and said that the project aimed to raise awareness and information about the EU and Türkiye-EU relations involving all segments of the society.

Stating that relations with the EU are extremely important for Türkiye's modernisation and enrichment process, Hisarcıklıoğlu said: “We, as TOBB, always keep relations with the EU at the top of our priorities. The Customs Union has been the most important tool for the transformation of Türkiye's production capacity. Accession negotiations have deepened and broadened Türkiye's transformation process. In recent years, the accession process has stalled. As the Turkish business world, we are not happy with this situation.” The meeting then continued with a panel titled 'Skills of the Digital Age'.
