The policy  brief entitled “The EU Strategic Compass and Türkiye: A Missed Opportunity in Defence Cooperation” authored by IKV Senior Researcher Yeliz Şahin was published as part of IKV Brief series. The brief note focuses on the main initiatives foreseen under the Strategic Compass designed to steer the course of EU’s security and defence policies in the next five to ten years and analyses the way Türkiye is portrayed in the document as well as Ankara's reaction to it. It is argued that the document represents a missed opportunity in advancing security and defence cooperation between the two actors at a highly critical time as its approach towards Türkiye reflects the claims by Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration.
