The IKV Brief entitled “EU-AU Summit: Do the EU’s and Turkey’s Interests on Africa Coincide with or Contradict Each Other?” prepared by Junior Researcher Erdem Tekçi was published by IKV Brief Series. The brief note provides an assessment of the relations between the EU and Africa in context of EU-African Union (AU) Summit held on 17-18 February 2022 and a discussion on whether the interests of Turkey and the EU contradict in the region. While the relations between the EU and the AU are examined from a historical perspective, future scenarios are also discussed and the possibility of a conflict between Turkey's and EU's interests is examined through a comparative analysis of Turkey’s African initiative and the EU's presence in Africa.
