IKV ORGANISED A TRAINING PROGRAMME ON TURKEY-EU-NATO RELATIONS IN BRUSSELS

IKV organised an EU and NATO training programme for Turks living abroad in cooperation with the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB). Within the scope of the programme held on 23-25 May 2022, young people of Turkish origin living and studying in different European countries received a training on the fundamental features and structure of the EU, Turkey-EU relations, NATO, migration and the future of the EU. The training programme was held at the TOBB-IKV Brussels Representation. YTB President Abdullah Eren, Turkey's Permanent Delegate to the EU Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay and Turkey’s Permanent Representative to NATO Ambassador Basat Öztürk delivered the opening speeches. At the meeting, IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas gave a lecture on “Structural Transformation of the EU from Past to Present.” At the same time, IKV Brussels Representative Haluk Nuray discussed “Turkey-EU Relations.” The other lecturers of the training program were Assoc. Prof. Sühal Şemşit from Celal Bayar University, Permanent Representative to the EU Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Maria Serfioti from European Personnel Selection Office, Prof. Dr. İlke Göçmen from Ankara University, TOBB Brussels EU Affairs Manager Seval İskender and National Agency Youth Studies Senior Specialist Yasemin Koçak. The closing and the certificate ceremony of the programme was held with the participation of Turkey's Ambassador to Belgium Dr. Hasan Ulusoy.
