IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas spoke at the webinar titled “New Government in Germany, Turkey and the EU” organised by the Istanbul Policy Center (IPC) on 25 January 2022 within the scope of “Pandemic and Society” webinar series.

In her speech at the webinar, Nas stated that the German coalition government formed by the social democrats, greens and liberals shared a common approach especially in the areas of combating the climate crisis, digitalisation, social justice, multilateralism and a value-based foreign policy. Assoc. Prof. Nas drew attention to the importance of the change in Germany for Turkey and emphasized that the new government’s attitude will also have an impact on Turkey’s EU membership process.

The other speakers of the webinar, which was moderated by IPC Research and Academic Affairs Coordinator Prof. Senem Aydın Düzgit, were TEPAV Founding Director Prof. Güven Sak, IPC Senior Researcher Prof. Atila Eralp and TEPAV European Studies Director Nilgün Arısan Eralp.
