On 27 September 2021, IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas discussed the preliminary results of the German federal elections held on 26 September 2021 on Duvar Özel and Rudaw TV. IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Nas analysed the possible election scenarios in the programme prepared by Mühdan Sağlam. Stating that a coalition between the Social Democratic Party, Greens and Free Democrats, all of which have increased their votes, is considered as the most likely scenario, IKV Secretary General Nas indicated that such a government would prioritize the climate crisis, digitalisation, the rule of law and democratic principles, and strive for Germany and the EU to lead on the green and digital transformations. Speaking on Rudaw TV news, Assoc. Prof. Nas underscored that the structure of the new government to be formed could have ciritical implications for the EU and Turkey-EU relations.
