On 7 September 2021, IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas addressed the session on "Europe's Geostrategic Sovereignty and Turkey" at the Turkey Europe Future Forum, jointly organised by the Mercator Foundation and TÜSİAD. The other speaker of the session moderated by Nina Locher, Advisor to the President of the Heinrich Böll Foundation was Paris Bosphorus Institute President Dr. Bahadır Kaleağası.

IKV Secretary General Nas highlighted the importance of establishing a common political identity for Europe to gain geostrategic sovereignty and stressed the need for reform in the decision-making process. Assoc. Prof. Nas stated that developing Turkey-EU relations and working together on issues such as security, defence, trade, climate and energy will strengthen Europe geostrategically. The Turkey European Future Forum has been bringing together young leaders from Turkey and Germany since 2015 to ensure intense dialogue and communication.
