The policy brief entitled “Pursuit of a Common Ground for a Cyprus Settlement: Geneva Talks and Beyond” authored by Senior Researcher Yeliz Şahin was published by IKV Brief Series. The brief note provides an insight into the 5+UN informal meeting on Cyprus held between 27 and 29 April 2021 in Geneva and examines the respective standpoints of the parties to the Cyprus dispute. Moreover, the brief offers an analysis of the Turkish Cypriot side’s new vision based on sovereign equality and the changing dynamics of the Cyprus equation. Finally, the EU’s position regarding the Cyprus issue is examined as a complicating factor in the broader context of Turkey-EU relations.
