On 20 May 2021, IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas discussed the European Green Deal and its importance for Turkey at a webinar organised by Antalya EU Information Center (AEUIC) affiliated with the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In the webinar organised by AEUIC, Assoc. Prof. Nas gave a presentation on the European Green Deal and indicated that reaching the objectives outlined in the Green Deal would have transformative effects on sectors such as industry, agriculture, energy, and transportation. In that context, Assoc. Prof. Nas stressed that the EU’s vision to bring the greenhouse gas emissions to net zero affected not only the Member States, but also candidate countries like Turkey and neighbouring states having close relations with the EU. Alper Acar, Climate Change Program Manager at the EU Delegation to Turkey also spoke at the webinar.
