IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas participated in the third of a series of expert seminars organised by Yeditepe University within the Jean Monnet Module on 20 April 2021. The seminar was moderated by the Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Module and the Deputy Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Yeditepe University, Assoc. Prof. Selin Türkeş-Kılıç. In her speech titled “EU’s Current Priorities and the Green Deal”, IKV Secretary General  Nas summarised the current priorities of the EU and said that the European Green Deal is at the top of the list. Assoc. Prof. Nas said that in this context the EU is renewing itself, creating a new area of competition within the economic sphere and it is moving towards achieving the objectives of the Paris Agreement. Assoc. Prof. Nas also pointed out that the European Climate Law lies at the center of the Green Deal and it provides the legal framework for the Member States to take comprehensive and legally binding measures to fight climate change. Nas spoke more on issues falling within the scope of the Green Deal and then in the final section she answered questions by the participants.
