IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof.  Çiğdem Nas was a guest on the “Pasaport” programme broadcast on NTV on 9 April 2021. IKV Secretary General Nas assessed the recent developments in Turkey-EU relations on the programme prepared and presented by Mete Çubukçu. Recalling that the European Council convening on 25 March 2021 agreed on a number of positive steps for advancing Turkey-EU relations under the heading Eastern Mediterranean, Assoc. Prof. Nas stated that continuation of cooperation on migration and refugees, modernisation of the Customs Union, high level dialogues and increasing people-to-people contacts stood out among the proposed steps. Indicating that the relations have been going through a difficult period in recent years, Nas underscored that political and economic reforms should be accelerated for retaining the EU membership perspective.
