On 29 March 2021, IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas attended an Instagram broadcast of Kanal Ekonomi. Responding to Serap Girgin Baykal's questions Assoc. Prof. Nas assessed in details the current state of play in Turkey-EU relations and conclusions of the 25-26 March European Council and its implications. IKV Secretary General stated that Turkey-EU bilateral relations entered a more positive route in 2021 in the aftermath of issues faced in 2020 and some positive measures were brought up at the EU Summit in March. Finally Assoc. Prof. Nas emphasized that although foreign policy and security concerns occupy an important place in bilateral relations, progress in the field of democracy, human rights and the rule of law is also extremely important.
