On 16 March 2021, IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas, attended an online seminar organised by Istanbul Policy Center (IPC) on "Turkey-EU Relations and Green Deal". During the webinar in which the joint statement drafted by IKV, IPC and TEPAV and published on 8 March was also discussed, the participants assessed Turkey-EU relations and the European Green Deal. Along with Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas, TEPAV Director Prof. Güven Sak, IPC Director Prof. Fuat Keyman and IPC Research and Academic Affairs Coordinator Prof. Senem Aydın Düzgit attended the webinar. IKV Secretary-General assessed different aspects of the European Green Deal which is shaped around the EU's goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Indicating that Green Deal will demand radical changes in all sectors from transport to agriculture, from industry to energy, Assoc. Prof. Nas stated that the process of transformation closely concerns Turkey. IKV Secretary-General also stressed that the joint statement prepared by three institutions was calling on Turkey's alignment with tackling climate change of which the first step would be ratification of the Paris Agreement.
