On 17 December 2020, IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas delivered a presentation regarding the European Green Deal and its significance for Turkey at the Board of Management of Automotive Distributors’ Association. During the meeting Assoc. Prof. Nas stated that European Green Deal had been presented as a new growth strategy by the European Commission that took office in December 2019. Underlining that Turkey will be directly affected by the transformations in the scope of the European Green Deal objectives, Nas indicated that with these transformations the European Commission aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Assoc. Prof. Nas stressed key transformation areas that would be crucial for the automotive sector over the years as it is one of the primary sectors that the Green Deal will affect, such development of charging point infrastructure and investment in environment-friendly fuel.
