IKV Chairman Ayhan Zeytinoğlu participated in the 39^th meeting of the Turkey-EU Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) which was held online on 8 September 2020. Turkey-EU JCC Co-Chairs M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Panagiotis Gkofas co-chaired the meeting which was attended by European Commission Vice-President Margaritis Schinas and Deputy Foreign Minister and EU Affairs Director Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı.

Prof. Çiğdem Nas, IKV Deputy Secretary General M. Gökhan Kilit, Türk-İş Education Secretary Eyüp Alemdar, Secretary General of the Banks Association of Turkey Assoc. Prof. Ekrem Keskin, TOBB EU Compliance Commission Secretary General Filiz Akkaş, TİSK Secretary General Akansel Koç attended the meeting from Turkey. Representatives of employees, employers, tradesmen and women's organisations from Turkey and the EU attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on issues such as Turkey-EU relations, cooperation on refugees, the modernisation of the Customs Union, the revitalisation of Turkey’s EU accession negotiations and contribution to the Erasmus+ programme. The importance of civil society dialogue in relations was highlighted.
