On 20 February 2020, IKV organised a roundtable meeting entitled "Reassessing Russia’s Role in Global Politics in association with the Istanbul Policy Center (IPC). Two prominent experts; Editor-in-Chief of Russia in Global Affairs, Fyodor Lukyanov and Assoc. Prof. Michael Reynolds from Princeton University shared their views on Russia's role in global politics at the roundtable meeting attended by academics, experts, and representatives from NGOs and foreign missions.

At the roundtable meeting moderated by IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas, Editor-in-Chief of Russia in Global Affairs, Fyodor Lukyanov presented Russia's view of global politics and the underlying principles of Russian Foreign Policy under Putin. Lukyanov also provided information on Russian involvement in the Syrian crisis and the internal political developments in Russia in the context of the constitutional amendment package proposed by President Putin in January. Assoc. Prof. Michael Reynolds from Princeton University explained Russia's increasing influence in the international arena in parallel with the foreign policy preferences of the US.
