On 4 February 2020, IKV Chairman Ayhan Zeytinoğlu attended the second meeting of the EU Communication Strategy (EUCS) Advisory, Consultation and Coordination Board (DAYEK). The meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, was attended by representatives of board-member ministries, public institutions and civil society organisations. During the meeting held at the Directorate for EU Affairs in Ankara, Turkey-EU relations and EUCS activities were discussed, and stakeholders had an exchange of views on a calendar of events to be carried out within the scope of EUCS in Turkey and in EU member states.

At the meeting, the importance of cooperation between public institutions and non-governmental organisations in the organisation of joint events was underlined. Moreover, the need to increase the effectiveness of existing communication tools and activities in the EU accession process with joint efforts, effective evaluation and monitoring mechanisms and efficient use of financial resources were discussed.
