The 78^th Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Commission (JPC) meeting was realised at TGNA Ceremony Hall on 19-20 December 2018, under the chairmanship of co-chairs İsmail Emrah Karayel ve Manolis Kefalogiannis. During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and Director for EU Affairs Faruk Kaymakcı, Deputy Director-General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Maciej Popowski, Head of EU Delegation to Turkey Ambassador Christian Berger and Austria’s Ambassador to Ankara Ulrike Tilly on behalf of the Presidency of the Council of the EU delivered the opening speeches.

The second day of the meeting started with a session entitled “Turkey-EU Economic Cooperation”. During the session, Directorate General of EU Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Deputy Head of EU Delegation to Turkey Gabriel Munuera Vinals delivered speeches.

The last session of the meeting entitled “Security Trials” ended with the speeches of Director General for International Security Affairs at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Alper Çoşkun and Deputy Head of EU Delegation to Turkey Gabriel Munuera Vinals.

Strategy and Business Development Director M. Gökhan Kilit and IKV Press Officer and EU Information Centre Coordinator Mehmet Poyrazlı participated in the meeting on behalf of IKV.
