CEO of EUROCHAMBRES  Arnaldo Abruzzini delivered a speech to TÖSED-BUSINESSTÜRK members on 22 November. During the conference hosted in TOBB and IKV Brussels Office and moderated by IKV Brussels Representative Haluk Nuray, Abruzzini evaluated the rapid changes witnessed by the world from the viewpoint of business world, society and individuals. While drawing attention to the difficulties experienced on fundamental EU values, Abruzzini warned that in the current environment in which populism is rising, the results of the European Parliament elections may threaten all the gains of the EU. He also narrated his evaluations regarding Turkey’s EU membership and underscored from the perspective of business world that, the EU would be in a much better situation having Turkey as a member, even in a purely statistical sense. While stating that the greatest setback in front of Turkey’s EU membership is the fears arising from the EU, Abruzzini stressed the need for the modernisation of the Customs Union and visa liberalisation for Turkish citizens.
