President of the European Council Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker delivered a celebration message to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who won the 24 June elections. In the letter dated 26 June 2018, while Tusk and Juncker congratulated the re-elected President Erdogan, it was remarked that Turkey is a candidate country and is a key partner for the EU. Moreover, it was emphasised that they will continue to work closely with Turkey in the areas of common interest such as security, migration and energy.
