With a plethora of high-level gatherings, summits and strategy papers sheduled, 2018 has been dubbed as the year in which the EU has rediscovered the Western Balkans. In the new brief note entitled "EU’s Western Balkan Comeback: A Look into what 2018 Holds for the Region’s EU Perspective", IKV Senior Researcher Yeliz Şahin analyzes the EU's re-engagement with the Western Balkans. In that respect the brief note gives an insight into the key events of the year for the Western Balkans including the European Commission's annonucement of its Western Balkan Strategy in February and the EU-Western Balkans Summit held in May in Sofia.
