IKV Chairman Ayhan Zeytinoğlu had meetings at the Ministry for EU Affairs and the EU Delegation to Turkey in Ankara on 9 January 2018. IKV Chairman Zeytinoğlu visited Undersecretary of Ministery of EU Ambassador Selim Yenel firstly, and Ambassador Christian Berger, Head of EU Delegation to Turkey right after. During both meetings, the recent developments concerning Turkey and EU relations were on the agenda. IKV Chairman Zeytinoğlu gave information regarding IKV’s latest conferences in Turkey and abroad as well as recent IKV publications.. IKV Chairman Zeytinoğlu also highlighted the importance of Turkey’s EU process. He stated that the accession negotiation process is   within a stalemate and added; revitalisation of the process would result in a win-win situation for both Turkey and EU.

IKV Chairman Zeytinoğlu especially called attention to modernization of Turkey-EU Customs Union, visa liberalisation dialogue and refugee cooperation. He indicated that acceleration  in these three processes would trigger cooperation and integration between Turkey and EU, and highlighted that IKV would continue monitoring these processes closely. IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas accompanied IKV Chairman Zeytinoğlu during the meetings.
