A conference entitled “Turkey-EU Relations: Problems and Proposals for Solutions” was held in Kars on the 22^nd May 2015 at the Caucasus University in cooperation with Kars Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Erzurum EU Information Centre. The latest developments in Turkey-EU relations were discussed during the conference.

At the conference which was organised by Caucasus University Faculty of Economy and Administrative Sciences, Caucasus University Faculty of Economy and Administrative Sciences Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Haydar Efe, Head of the Department of EU Studies, Graduate School of Social Sciences of the Dokuz Eylül University Prof. Canan Balkır, IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas and IKV Deputy Secretary General and Research Director Melih Özsöz gave a presentations.

The opening speech of the conference was delivered by Caucasus University Faculty of Economy and Administrative Sciences Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Haydar Efe during which he touched upon the latest developments on Turkey-EU relations.  At the panel, Prof. Canan Balkır gave detailed information regarding the established Customs Union between Turkey and the EU and its revision; IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas touched upon the latest developments as regards Turkey-EU negotiations process and IKV Deputy Secretary General and Research Director Melih Özsöz spoke about visa obligations of Turkish citizens wishing to travel to the EU.
