In Riga, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu attended on the 6^th March 2015 to the Gymnich meeting where Ministers of Foreign Affairs of EU Member States and Candidate States gather. The informal Gymnich meeting was closed to the press. Regional issues and energy cooperation were on the main topics discussed during the meeting.

At the occasion of his trip to Latvia, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini. During this bilateral meeting, Minister Çavuşoğlu and EU Representative Mogherini explored the opportunities to increase cooperation in regards to the fight against terrorism.
