TOBB Chairman M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the Chairman and Members of the Turkey-EU Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) met with Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Volkan Bozkır on 8 December 2015.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded that their support to Turkey’s EU process would be pursued in this new period as employees, employers and as members of JCC. He further wished success to Bozkır in his role as Ministry for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator.

Reminding that Bozkır had also fulfilled important tasks as Permanent Representative of Turkey to the European Union, Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed that a very positive agenda has been shaped to open new chapters in the next period and to further achieve progress as regards the Visa Liberalisation Dialogue.

As for Minister Bozkır, he pointed out that employers and trade unions have an important contribution with respect to Turkey-EU relations and added that he was honoured that representatives of the JCC Delegation have visited him.

Moreover, Bozkır explained that the fact that employers are working in coordination regarding Turkey-EU relations contributes to forge an environment of trust. Bozkır also added that Turkey would continue its path towards EU membership with safety and went on to explain that they would continue to work in coordination with all related actors in that respect.
