Minister for EU Prof. Dr. Beril Dedeoğlu came together with academicians at the Ministry’s Istanbul office on 9 October. In this meeting which took place after President Erdoğan’s visit to Belgium, Minister for EU, Prof. Dedeoğlu gave detailed information regarding the visit made by the President.  She also assessed the latest developments in Turkey-EU relations. In this respect, she stated that although the political process of Turkey’s EU accession came to a halt, she ensured the technical process has continued throughout the year of 2015. The Minister for EU Affairs stated that in 2015, over 120 technical meetings were held. During the meeting, she also referred to the refugee crisis, the situation in Syria and their impacts on Turkey-EU relations.

This meeting gave an opportunity to exchange views on Turkey-EU relations between Minister for EU Affairs and academicians. On behalf of IKV, IKV Deputy Secretary General and Research Director Melih Özsöz attended to the meeting.
