PROF. BERIL DEDEOĞLU WAS APPOINTED AS NEW MINISTER FOR EU AFFAIRS
Following the resignation of Ali Haydar Konca, Prof. Beril Dedeoğlu was appointed as Minister for EU Affairs on 22 September 2015. Prof. Dedeoğlu is heading the International Relations Section of the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences at Galatasaray University since 2005. Currently, Minister for EU Affairs Dedeoğlu is also giving courses at Istanbul’s Aydın University and Gaziantep’s Hasan Kalyoncu University.
Dedeoğlu was born in Ankara in 1961. She completed her higher education in International Relations at Istanbul University. Dedeoğlu is the author of many publications on Turkey-EU relations, international security and international politics. She had also been appointed to membership of YÖK (Council of Higher Education) by the then President Abdullah Gül and was part of the “Wise Persons Committee” within the framework of the peace process.
